Dr. Ron Weiss, MD - Primary Care Doctor - Long Valley, New Jersey

Special Presentation: Farm to Hospital: How the Way We Farm Makes Us Sick

Dr. Ron Weiss is the founder of Ethos Health, a farm-based healthcare system that connects human health to the natural world and fosters the fundamental connections that exist between all living things. He is also a botanist and farmer, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a board certified internist with an active primary care practice. Dr. Salvatore Lacagnina, D.O. - System Medical Director of Wellness & Employee Health -  Ft. Myers, FL

Special Presentation: OPTIMAL Health

Dr. Salvatore Lacagnina is the System Medical Director of Wellness and Employee Health for Lee Health. In this role, his mission is to motivate, educate and empower people to improve their health and wellness. Dr. Sal, as he likes to be called, is one of Lee Health's champions responsible for developing a comprehensive health, wellness and preventive care program for more than 19,000 employees and family members.

He is Medical Director for the LH Employee Health clinics and the Medical Director for the Wellness Centers in Cape Coral and Ft. Myers in Florida. 

From 1994-2010 he practiced Internal Medicine with Lee Physician Group and served as its Medical Director until 2010 before taking on his role as System Medical Director of Wellness and Employee Health. His emphasis is on the prevention and reversal of cardio metabolic diseases, diabetes, weight management, cancer risk factor reduction and overall lifestyle medicine. 

Dr. Sal earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he is Board Certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and is a Diplomat of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Sal writes a weekly column about health and wellness in The News-Press [Ft. Myers, FL] and a monthly column for the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce Trends publication. He also speaks publicly throughout the community. 


Dr. Jimmy Conway, M.D. - Orthopedic Surgeon - Oklahoma City, OK

Special Presentation: How Whole Foods Have the Power to Prevent and Reverse Disease

Dr. Jimmy Conway specializes in treating orthopedic disorders of the elbow and shoulder. Dr. Conway is a leading expert in the treatment of throwing injuries for baseball and softball players. Dr. Conway is also a featured speaker for many national and international plant-based nutrition organizations.

PlantbasedOKC was founded in 2009 by Dr. Jimmy Conway and his wife Andrea after Jimmy learned he suffered from severe blockage in a major artery. After triple bypass surgery was recommended by his cardiologist, Jimmy and Andrea immersed themselves in literature and medical studies looking for an alternative to surgery.

After reading The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell, PhD and Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D., Jimmy and Andrea opted to try a whole foods, plant-based diet as a remedy to Jimmy’s artery blockage and excessively high triglycerides. Today, Dr. Conway is healthier than ever and he, along with Andrea, seek to educate others looking to live a plant-based diet lifestyle.


Karin gibson - nutrition consultant - new york city, ny

Special Presentation: The Whole Food Plant-Based Young Family

Karen Gibson worked as a registered dietitian in Sweden helping patients with a variety of symptoms and diseases. She is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition and currently lives in New York City where she coaches private clients. Karin uses the power of plants to help her clients develop a lifestyle that optimizes health and prevents disease. She also specializes in plant-based diets during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as how to raise healthy well-nourished children.
